Starting today, I’m going on a week long body cleanse to try and discover the foods and activities that trigger my stomach and heartburn problems.
For the next three days (including today), I will only be eating fruits and vegetables. Then, for the following two days, I will slowly add back in healthy grains. Finally, I will add in healthy proteins on the last two days. The whole time, I will be keeping a meticulous food journal, documenting my food intake, time and symptoms.
Also, I am going to start taking my multivitamin again (I know, it is awful that I haven’t been already)… hopefully this will help me stay relatively balanced during this week.

8/24/10

Finally, another weigh-in.

Sorry, life has been pretty hectic, so I haven’t been on top of things when it comes to weigh-ins and progress reports, but here we go!

Current stats: 5’6”, 153 pounds (post workout, so my hair was sweaty and wet… so possibly about a pound off), 30 consecutive pushups, 80 consecutive situps

I’m a little frustrated about the minimal weight loss, but my soreness is telling me that I’ve been doing a good job toning my muscles, so perhaps that’s where some of that seeming discrepancy is coming from.

September Gym Schedule

I have exactly 4 weeks until I go back to school. Here’s my (slightly obsessive) gym schedule between now and then. Keep in mind that I’m training to be a kickboxing instructor, and all my friends have already left for school, virtually eliminating my social life for the next month.

  • Monday: 9:00-10:00a Yoga, 5:30-6:30p Turbo Kickboxing, 6:30-7:00p Treadmill, 7:00-7:30p Weights
  • Tuesday: 9:30-10:30a Turbo Kickboxing, 10:30a-11:30a Yoga, *Optional 6:30-7:30p Turbo Kickboxing, *Optional 7:30-8:30p Yoga
  • Wednesday: 5:30-6:30p Turbo Kickboxing, 6:30-7:00p Treadmill, 7:00-7:30p Weights
  • Thursday: 9:30-10:30a Total Core Training, 6:00-7:00p Turbo Kickboxing
  • Friday: 9:00-10:00a Turbo Kickboxing, 10:00-11:00a Zumba, *Optional 5:30-6:30p Turbo Kickboxing
  • Saturday: 9:00-10:00a Yoga, 10:00-11:00a Turbo Kickboxing, 11:00-12:00p Zumba
  • Sunday: 8:30-9:00a Amp’d Abs, 9:00-10:00a Turbo Kickboxing, 10:00-11:00a Yoga

Yes, it is a lot… but as you can see, there are plenty of optional workouts in there. And Saturday will be my rest day if I feel like I need one, because I don’t like the Turbo Kickboxing teacher for that day.

8/20/10

I missed the gym. I went to TKB on Thursday evening and again (FUN FRIDAY!) this morning.

I’m getting up super early tomorrow so I can gym it up on my own before I go see A Midsummer Night’s Dream with my grandpa. I have to go to Orange County on Sunday to help take care of my sick grandma, so I’ll probably have to miss my usual Sunday TKB class. If so, I’m going to try and get up really early and make it to the gym on my own.

See, I’m dedicated!

Hiatus

Sorry guys, I’ve been out of town for the past few days, so I haven’t been on tumblr. I really enjoyed my time in the bay area visiting friends and helping my best friend move… but there was a lot of stress involved and lots of spontaneous long walks around the city - in boots - so my stomach and legs were not happy with me. I’m ready for a day of relaxation and then intensive working out for my last month of summer. :)

As I mentioned previously, I heard back from my doctor, and she thinks that I have a bad case of IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). It has been about seven months of suffering with it, but now that I know what it is, I can start trying to fix it.

That being said, I started taking a medicine today to try and get rid of the symptoms of IBS… unfortunately, this medicine makes you worse for a few days before you get better.

So… I just got back from the gym an hour earlier than anticipated, because I almost threw up on the treadmill. It is frustrating and far from fun, but if it ends up working in the long run, I’m not going to complain at all.

My stomach is still hurting today. Booo :(

But on the bright side, I’m going to try and borrow the car tomorrow so I can go to a different 24 Hour Fitness location for a 9am TKB class, followed by a 10am Body Pump class… I haven’t tried Body Pump yet, but I’m excited to see what it is like! :)
